Men's Tennis Drops Match to Howard Payne, 5-4

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran men's tennis fell to Howard Payne, 5-4, in non-conference action at Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs (0-6) dropped two points in doubles competition to the Yellow Jackets (2-3). The team of Dristan Weaver (Schertz/Clemens) and Quinn Johnson (Appleton, Wis./Kimberly) picked up their first win of the season - winning their match 8-5.

Texas Lutheran and Howard Payne would split their singles matches 3-3. Quinn Johnson would win his third singles match in a row 6-4, 6-2. Senior Dristan Weaver would collect his first singles win of the season 7-5, 6-3. Simon Carandang (Friendswood/Clear Brook) would also pick up his first singles victory of the season winning his match 6-3, 5-7, 10-6.

Texas Lutheran is back in action on Saturday, February 26th, in a home match against the McMurry War Hawks. First serve is set for 9 AM at the Ohlenbusch-Rinn Tennis Center.
