Alex Talley named TLU's Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year
SEGUIN, Texas -- Senior men's tennis player Alex Talley (Live Oak/Judson) has been named Texas Lutheran's 2019-20 Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
The Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, also called the Walter & Sue Christiansen Award, is given annually to the top senior student-athlete at TLU in recognition of that student-athlete's outstanding achievements in the classroom and in the field of play.
Talley, a four-year letter-winner for the Bulldogs, claimed TLU's Junior-Year Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year award in 2019.
Talley holds a 3.91 grade point average at TLU as a molecular biology major. He is pursuing a minor in chemistry as well.
A three-time Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll member, Talley has played in the TLU Men's Tennis lineup in each of his four seasons.
In the 2020 spring season, Talley played at No. 1 singles and at No. 1 doubles.
Talley will complete his undergraduate degree from TLU this May. He has been accepted at Texas Christian University for a doctoral program in biochemistry. Talley is still considering his post-TLU options.
