TLU and Austin College Play to Scoreless Draw

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against Austin College in their first game at Gustafson Field in over a month Sunday afternoon. The Bulldogs go to 5-0-3 and 1-0-2 in the SCAC while the 'Roos are 3-7-2 and 1-1-1 in conference play.

Texas Lutheran has not allowed a goal in four consecutive matches.

TLU out shot Austin College 15-3 on the afternoon and finished with a 2-1 advantage in shots on goal. Texas Lutheran held a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks.

Noel Pena (Houston/Cy-Falls) made one save for his fifth clean sheet of the season.

The Bulldogs controlled most of the first half with 56% possession and getting two shots on target but could not find the back of the net. Seniors Noah Harris (Missouri City/Elkins) and Gavin Edwards (Round Rock/Stony Point) had TLU's only two shots on goal of the day.

The 'Roos best chance came in the 21st minute but was turned away by Pena.

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Friday, Oct. 11, against rival and 24th-ranked Trinity in San Antonio. Kickoff is set for 5 PM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
