TLU and No. 19 Southwestern Play to Scoreless Draw

GEORGETOWN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw against 19th-ranked Southwestern in Georgetown Friday night to open SCAC play. The Bulldogs go to 4-0-2 and 0-0-1 in the SCAC while the Pirates are 5-1-2 and also 0-0-1 in conference play.

Both teams had six shots on the night and finished with one shot on goal each. Texas Lutheran held a 5-3 advantage in corner kicks.

Noel Pena (Houston/Cy-Falls) made one save for his third clean sheet of the season.

The Bulldogs controlled most of the first half with 62% possession and getting a shot on target but could not find the back of the net. Senior Jack Manke (Houston/Stratford) had one of the better chances for TLU in the 11th minute as the Bulldogs lone shot on goal.

Southwestern's best chance came nine seconds into the second half but was turned away by Pena.
