Manke & Roman Earn All-Region Honors

SEGUIN, Texas -- The United Soccer Coaches announced Tuesday that Texas Lutheran midfielder Jack Manke (Houston/Stratford) and defender Diego Roman (Houston/Lamar) have each been named All-Region selections after an impressive season that saw the Bulldogs have one of the best seasons in program history. This is the first time since 2019's three honorees that TLU has had multiple All-Region honorees.

Manke was named a First Team All-West Region selection while Roman landed a spot on the Third Team.

Manke earns All-Region honors for the first time in his Texas Lutheran career on the heels of a season that saw him earn All-SCAC First Team honors for the second consecutive season. Manke started all 17 matches for the Bulldogs in 2023, tying for the team lead with nine goals and was second on the team with 20 points while leading the team with five game winners on the season. Manke would earn both SCAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors over the course of the 2023 season. Manke tied for the national lead with a perfect 1.000 percentage on penalty kicks (4-for-4) and tied for 13th nationally with five game winners. The Bulldogs were 8-0 in games in which Manke tallied a goal.

Roman also lands All-Region honors for the first time in his career after earning his first career All-SCAC First Team honor. Roman started all 17 matches in 2023 as the team posted ten shutouts on the season. Roman tallied a goal and two assists on the season.
