SEGUIN, Texas -- No. 21 Texas Lutheran men's soccer (13-2, 4-2 SCAC) matched the program record for shutouts in a season, defeating the University of Dallas Crusaders (1-11-3, 0-6-1 SCAC) 3-0 at Gustafson Field on Senior Day.
Jack Manke (Houston/Stratford) scored the first of his two goals on Sunday via a 7th minute penalty kick. Preston Huff (Cypress/Cy-Fair) would score his second goal of the weekend in the 54th minute via assists from Louis Hart (Missouri City/Ridge Point) and Santiago Quinonez (Chihuahua, Mexico/New Braunfels) followed by an 82nd minute goal by Manke to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 win on Sunday.
The Crusaders only managed one shot on the evening while Texas Lutheran finished with 24 total shots. Noel Pena (Houston/Cy-Falls) made the Bulldogs only save in the first half.
TLU's ten shutouts matches the program record mark set in 2003 and 2015.
Following Sunday's match the Bulldogs honored their four seniors: Santiago Quinonez, Mark Costanza (Tyler/Robert E. Lee), Efrain Huerta (San Antonio/Brennan), and Luis Zamora (Conroe/Conroe).
The Bulldogs will welcome Southwestern to Gustafson Field on Saturday, Oct. 28, for the final match of the 2023 regular season in a match with SCAC Tournament implications.
