No. 19 TLU Men’s Soccer Records Ninth Shutout in Win over Centenary

SHREVEPORT, LA -- The No. 19 Texas Lutheran men's soccer team (12-0, 3-0 SCAC) blanked the Centenary College Gents (3-5-3, 0-2 SCAC), 5-0, for its fourth consecutive shutout and ninth of the season Friday night in Shreveport. The Bulldogs are one shutout shy of matching the program record for shutouts in a season (10) which was done in 2003 and 2015.

Five different Bulldogs scored Friday night with Louis Hart (Missouri City/Ridge Point), Jack Manke (Houston/Stratford), Preston Huff (Cypress/Cy-Fair), Jorge Ugaz (Cibolo/Clemens), and Carson Alldredge (Spring/Klein) all recording goals for the Bulldogs.

Hart and Manke combined for two goals within the first 20 minutes of the match. Hart would score on the only assisted goal of the night via an assist from Erick Lopez (Humble/Humble).

Huff tallied the Bulldogs third goal early in the second half - his third straight match with a goal - before Ugaz would immediately follow with a goal in the 48th minute.

Freshman Carson Alldredge would score his first career collegiate goal in the 79th minute for the final goal of the match.

Noel Pena (Houston/Cy-Falls) recorded a lone save in-goal for TLU. With the win, he recorded his 20th career goalkeeper win - moving into fifth all-time in TLU history. With 12 wins in a single-season, Pena is now second all-time, only trailing former teammate Caleb Weed's 2019 season and Pena now holds the single-season record for shutouts in goal.

Texas Lutheran continues its conference road trip on Sunday, Oct. 8, as they travel to Houston to face the St. Thomas Celts. The match is set to kick off at 3:30 PM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
