Green Becomes SCAC All-Time Points Leader as TLU Ends in 1-1 Draw with Colorado College

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran outshot Colorado College 13-4 but it wasn't enough as the Bulldogs ended the afternoon in a 1-1 draw with the Tigers at Gustafson Field.

Colorado College took a 1-0 advantage in the 33rd minute - scoring on a second ball after the Tigers initial shot was blocked by the TLU back line.

Texas Lutheran recorded four shots on goal in the first half but wouldn't find their equalizer until a 77th minute goal from senior forward Luis Green (Monterrey, Mexico/Smithson Valley), his 13th of the season. Green would score via an assist from Louis Hart (Missouri City/Ridge Point). With the goal, Green not only moved into a tie for 16th place all-time in NCAA Division-III with his 75th career goal but would become the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's (SCAC) all-time career points leader with 169th point - surpassing Trinity's Josh Card (1999-02, 168 points). Green currently leads the SCAC in goals and points for the 2022 season.

Both teams were aggressive the whole 90 minutes and it showed in the stat sheet, with 24 total fouls and three yellow cards.

After Sunday's match, the Bulldogs recognized their five seniors: Caleb Weed (San Antonio/Warren), Nestor Ayala (Dorado, Puerto Rico/Wagner), Marco Roman (Houston/Lamar), Luis Green, and Hunter Blaha (Caldwell/Caldwell) in senior day festivities celebrating their contributions to the TLU Soccer program as 2019 SCAC Champions and record holders.

Texas Lutheran continues SCAC play next Saturday, Oct. 22, as they travel to Georgetown, Texas, to face the Southwestern Pirates as the Bulldogs continue to jockey for position in the 2022 SCAC Men's Soccer Tournament.
