Bulldogs Tame 'Roos, 3-1

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Bulldogs earned an emphatic victory over Austin College Friday night, defeating the 'Roos 3-1. Texas Lutheran improves to 4-1-3 on the season while Austin College drops to 1-5-1.

As has been the case over the course of the Bulldogs' three-game win streak, Texas Lutheran piled on the pressure early, winning possession, and challenging the Austin College defense while playing a tight defense of their own. Texas Lutheran looked to attack from the first whistle and got on the board within the first six minutes of play.

Luis Green (Monterrey, Mexico/Smithson Valley) found the opener in the fifth minute placing a shot in the back of the net following a service from Luis Zamora (Conroe/Conroe).

Green and the Bulldogs didn't let up after gaining the lead. Constant attacking pressure led to the second goal from Luis Green in the 29th minute. This is Green's third consecutive game with two goals as his pursuit for the SCAC All-time scoring record continues.

Louis Hart (Missouri City/Ridge Point) found the third goal of the match following a free kick from Jack Manke (Houston/Stratford) - connecting on an impressive bicycle kick that shot past the Austin College keeper.

Austin College's lone goal came in the 65th minute.

Texas Lutheran outshot the 'Roos 15-5 and maintain a 48-25 shot advantage over their opponents over the course of their three match win streak.

Texas Lutheran travels to Houston, Texas, to face defending SCAC Champion, University of St. Thomas, on Sunday, Sept. 25 at 3 PM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
