Luis Green named SCAC Offensive Player of the Week

Green, a three-time SCAC Offensive Player of the Year and a CoSIDA Academic All-American last season, led the Bulldogs to four points over the weekend, scoring twice in a 4-1 victory over Centenary on Friday night and then cashing in late to secure a 1-1 tie against St. Thomas on Sunday, scoring the tying goal in the 88th minute. He led the SCAC with six points on the week and now sits second in the league with six goals on the season and 14 total points.

 

With 6 goals this season, Green has brought his career tally to 55 goals - a mere 7 off the TLU Soccer record of 62 held by TLU Hall of Famer Roger Gomez.

Senior midfielder Jacob Tekle of Austin College scored a pair of goals to lift the 'Roos to a perfect 2-0 record with wins over McMurry and a non-conference conference fixture with Dallas. He scored the second goal in a 3-2 win over the War Hawks and then converted at the penalty spot for the game-winner in a 2-1 win over the Crusaders. Freshman midfielder Vincent Luglio of Colorado College scored twice and added an assist to help CC earn a split on its two-game trip to Texas. Luglio had a goal and an assist during the loss at Trinity on Friday night. In Sunday's 3-0 victory at Schreiner, Luglio struck for the only goal that CC needed in the 12th minute to help lift the Tigers to a 3-0 win over the Mountaineers. Junior midfielder Dylan Blough of Schreiner assisted on the opening goal and then scored the game-winner in the Mountaineers' 3-2 win over Arlington Baptist last week. Sophomore forward Skyler Frey of Southwestern struck twice in the final 10 minutes of the Pirate's 2-0 win over Centenary on Sunday. Junior defender JonConnoer Rule of Trintiy scored a pair of first half goals in the Tigers' 6-2 win over Colorado College Friday night in San Antonio.
