SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran scored two goals in the first six minutes and nine seconds and rolled to a 4-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference over Austin College on Friday evening.
At TLU's Gustafson Field, Luis Green scored a pair of goals, including the first of the match, and Jared Esparza scored and had an assist.
The Bulldogs improved to 2-2 overall and to 2-2 in the SCAC. Austin College fell to 0-2 overall and to 0-2 in the SCAC.
Green scored at the 3:43 mark, and Nestor Ayala made it 2-0 with a goal at the 6:09 mark. Adrian Maldonado assisted on the Green goal, and Esparza recorded the assist on the Ayala shot.
Esparza gave TLU a 3-0 lead with a shot in the 38th minute. The goal came off a free kick.
Green put the Bulldogs' advantage to 4-0 with an unassisted goal in the 51st minute.
Noel Pena and Caleb Weed each played 45 minutes in goal for the Bulldogs. Pena stopped six shots, and Weed made two saves.
