Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at CLU Kingsmen Invitational

MOORPARK, CA --  The Texas Lutheran men's golf team tied for seventh place in the final standings at the CLU Kingsmen Invitational hosted by Cal Lutheran University at the Moorpark Country Club in Moorpark, California, on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs closed the event with a round of 306 with a 36-hole total of 603, 27-over par to tie La Verne for seventh. Tournament host, Cal Lutheran, won the event with a 596 tally at the par-72 course, winning the tournament by one stroke over University of Redlands.

Redlands's Aaron Buck posted a one-under total of 143 to claim first-place - winning the event by a single stroke.

Senior Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster), who sat in a tie for 30th after Monday's opening round, climbed 21 spots on the leaderboard on Tuesday to finish tied for ninth with a two-over par total of 146. Wills would tie for the best round of the day with a second score of 70 (-2). Cooper Hollomon (Bellville/Bellville) joined Wills in climbing the leaderboard on Tuesday, finishing the tournament tied for 12th overall at three-over par (147).

Van Miller (Katy/Seven Lakes) finished tied for 23rd with a final tally of 151 to finish seven-over par.

Shea Eason (Round Rock/Round Rock) finished tied for 50th after shooting a 17-over, 159 in the tournament while Jeffrey Janik (Harlingen/Harlingen School of Health Professions) finished 77th.

Texas Lutheran returns to action Mar. 24-25 at the Linda Lowery Invitational at Teravista Golf Club in Round Rock.
