Men's Golf Finishes Fifth at SCAC Preview

LAKE WHITNEY, Texas --  The Texas Lutheran men's golf team earned a fifth place finish at the 2024 SCAC Fall Preview hosted by St. Thomas at White Bluff Golf Resort in Lake Whitney, Texas, on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs closed the event with a round of 313 with a 36-hole total of 622, 46-over par. Trinity University won the event with a 596 tally at the par-72 course.

Trinity University's Jacob Mason posted a one-under total of 143 to claim first-place - winning the event by three strokes.

Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster) finished in a tie for sixth overall with a four-over par total of 148.

Freshman Cooper Hollomon (Bellville/Bellville) climbed 12 spots on the leaderboard to finish tied 27th overall at 13-over par (157). Freshman Jeffrey Janik (Harlingen/Harlingen School of Health Professions) climbed 23 spots to finish tied for 29th with a 36-hole score of 14-over par (158).

Van Miller (Katy/Seven Lakes) and Tyler Givilancz (Schertz/Clemens) finished tied for 33rd with a final tally of 159 to finish 15-over par.

John Tennill (Corpus Christi/Calallen) finished tied for 39th after shooting an 18-over, 162 in the tournament.

TLU returns to the course October 7-8 at the Alamo City Classic. The event, hosted by Trinity University, will be played at Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas.
