Men's Golf Closes Day One at Texas Cup

DESOTO, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran men's golf team opened play at the Texas Cup at Thorntree Golf Club in DeSoto, Texas, on Monday.

The Bulldogs carded a two round score of 39-over par round of 615 and are in ninth place. LeTourneau University leads the tournament after day one at two-under par 574.

Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster), the SwingU Division-III February College Player of the Month, paced the Bulldogs on Monday with a four-over par 148 - sitting in a tie for 15th.

Tyler Givilancz (Schertz/Clemens) posted a two round score of 154 (+10) to tie for 39th. Caleb Kruse (Fredericksburg/Fredericksburg) finished one stroke behind at 11-over through 36 holes to tie for 42nd place.

The Bulldogs are set to tee off in the third and final round of the Texas Cup at 8:30 AM on Tuesday, March 19. Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com.
