Tobey Wills Wins Individual Title at Space City Classic, Texas Lutheran Finishes Fifth

HOUSTON, Texas -- Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster), a junior from Richmond, Texas, made three birdies Tuesday en route to an one-under score of 70 to claim his first individual championship of the 2024 season at the Space City Classic in Houston, Texas.

Wills finished the 53-hole tournament at a 2-under score of 211 - winning the event by two strokes. The win marks the third individual championship in his career.

As a team, Texas Lutheran finished in fifth place with a final total of 898 (+46).

Tyler Givilancz (Schertz/Clemens) shot a 7-over final round to finish the Classic 15-over and in a tie for 19th place.

Freshman Cody O'Brien (Houston/St. John XXIII College Prep) held steady from day one and finished in a tie for 22nd place with a three round score of 16-over. Caleb Kruse (Fredericksburg/Fredericksburg) totaled a 17-over 230 to finish in a tie for 25th.

Texas Lutheran returns to action March 18-19 at the Texas Cup at the Thorntree Golf Club in DeSoto, Texas.
