Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at Abilene Intercollegiate

ABILENE, Texas --  The Texas Lutheran men's golf team earned a sixth place finish at the Abilene Intercollegiate Classic hosted by Hardin-Simmons University at the Diamondback National Golf Club in Abilene, Texas. on Tuesday.

The Bulldogs closed the event with a round of 302 with a 36-hole total of 603, 35-over par. Schreiner University won the event with a 565 tally at the par-71 course.

Schreiner University's Drew Hermesmeyer posted a five-under total of 137 to claim first-place - winning the event by a single stroke.

Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster) finished in a tie for sixth overall with a three-over par total of 145. Tyler Givilancz (Schertz/Clemens) joined Wills in the the top ten, finishing eighth at four-over par

Cody O'Brien (Houston/St. John XXIII College Prep) finished 28th with a final tally of 153 to finish 11-over par.

Caleb Kruse (Fredericksburg/Fredericksburg) finished tied for 39th after shooting a 17-over, 159 in the tournament.
