Wills Takes 36-hole Lead at Rhodes Spring Classic

MILLINGTON, TN -- Powered by a pair of strong rounds, sophomore Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster) sits in first place with a five stroke lead after the opening 36 holes Sunday at Mirimichi Golf Course in Millington, Tennessee, on day one of the Rhodes College Spring Classic.

Wills fired rounds of 71 and 66 Sunday to enjoy a five-shot lead heading into tomorrow's third and final round. Wills' second round featured seven birdies in total, including four on the back nine.

As a team, Texas Lutheran sits in fifth place at 24-over par - 20 shots back of leader, host Rhodes College, who is 4-over par through 36 holes as a team.

Senior Chandler Otto (Round Rock/Cedar Ridge) also closed business on Sunday in the top 20 after firing a 36-hole score of +8 (152). Reece Whittemore (Deer Park/Deer Park) sits just outside of the top 25 with a 11-over score of 155 in a tie for 26th.

Wills looks to close out his victory and Texas Lutheran looks to close the lead held by the Lynx tomorrow. Live scoring will be available on golfstat.com.
