Men's Golf Finishes Eighth in Alamo City Classic

SAN ANTONIO, Texas --  The Texas Lutheran men's golf team earned an eighth place finish at the Alamo City Classic on Tuesday at the Quarry Golf Course in San Antonio, Texas.

The Bulldogs closed the event with a round of 307 with a 72-hole total of 911, 59-over par. Trinity University won the event with a 849 tally, Mary Hardin-Baylor was second with a team score of 855 at the par-71 course.

Trinity University's Jacob Mason and Mary Hardin-Baylor's William Sammons posted a 5-under total of 208 to claim a tie first-place - winning the event by a stroke.

Sophomore Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster) and senior Chandler Otto (Round Rock/Cedar Ridge) just missed the top 25, with both tying for 26th with a 10-over par total of 223.

Freshman Foster Stoltz, Caleb Kruse, Drew Alexander, and William Tyler (League City/Clear Creek) finished 38th, 40th, 41st, and 42nd respectively.

TLU will be back in action Oct. 23-25 as they conclude their fall season with the Crusader Invitational at the Winstar Golf Course in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
