Chase Maus Fires Opening Round 75 to Open NCAA Championships

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, FL -- Texas Lutheran University men's golf standout Chase Maus (Manor/Manor) was back in action Tuesday morning for the opening round of the 2022 NCAA Division-III Men's Golf Championships at Mission Inn Resort, carding an opening round +4, 75 to sit in a tie for 54th place amongst the extensive 221 player field and in a tie for third amongst players competing as individuals.

Maus opened the day with an even par-four on the first hole and a double bogey on his second hole before responding with his first birdie of the day on his third hole. He posted a +3, 39 on the front nine. Maus would start his back nine with a birdie, the first of three on the back nine. Maus finished with a par and bogey on his 17th and 18th holes to shoot a one-over par on the back nine.

Maus finished the day tied for 54th on the overall leaderboard with 15 others, seven shots back of the leader, and is tied for third among the six individuals competing.

Maus will get underway with his second round on Wednesday, with his tee time scheduled for 12:15 PM EST.
