Bulldogs Fourth Through 36 Holes at SCAC Championships

BLANCO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran's men's golf team carded a 303 in the second round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Championship on Monday to move into fourth place at Vaaler Creek Golf Club.

After opening with a 305, the Bulldogs posted a 15-over 303 to close out the 36-hole day in fourth place - seventeen shots off the pace of Trinity University. The top three spots are held by Trinity (591), Southwestern (593), and Schreiner (597) with Texas Lutheran sitting in a tie for fourth with Dallas at 608.

TLU"s Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster) carded a 2-over total of 146 to share sixth place on the leaderboard after day one.

The Bulldog freshman followed an opening round 71 with a 3-over 75.

Wills was joined in the top 15 by senior Cameron Carter (Rock Springs, Wyo./Kelly Walsh) who shot a 152 through 36 holes to sit in a tie for 12th place.

Junior Chase Maus (Manor/Manor) shaved nine shots off his opening 82 with a 73 during his second to move into a tie for 21st place with teammate Matthew McArthur (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) - who turned in rounds of 78 and 77.

Chandler Otto (Round Rock/Cedar Ridge) finished tied for 33rd with a two round score of 166. Caleb Kruse finished day one in 39th place at 171 27-over par.

The Bulldogs will be paired with the University of Dallas Crusaders for tomorrow's third round. They will begin play at 10:08 AM. Live scoring links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
