Maus wins, Bulldogs Sixth at Crusader Invitational

THACKERVILLE, OK -- Chase Maus (Manor/Manor) led Texas Lutheran men's golf on the final day of the Crusader Invitational, earning Individual Champion honors for shooting 2-under par over the course of 36 holes, shooting 2-under in the final round Tuesday. The Bulldogs secured a sixth place finish with a 28-over, 604 total through the two-round tournament at the par-72 WinStar Golf Course.

Through the first 18 holes, TLU was tied for 6th place with Schreiner University heading into the final day of competition Tuesday. On Tuesday, the Bulldogs recorded the sixth-best round of the day, finishing with an 11-over 299 to finish the tournament two strokes behind 5th place Mary Hardin-Baylor.

Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster) joined Maus in the top 15, making a six-spot jump up the leaderboard on Tuesday after shooting a final round 73 to finish tied for 12th.

Maus, who headed into the final round tied for 4th, shot a tournament best 2-under to secure the second win of his career. The win comes in TLU golf's penultimate tournament of their fall season.

Matthew McArthur (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) finished tied for 28th after shooting a 10-over 154 through the tournament, recording a 6-over 78 on the final day.

Cameron Carter (Rock Springs, WY/Kelly Walsh) posted his best round of the tournament Tuesday, tallying a 6-over 78 to finish tied for 52nd.

Chandler Otto (Round Rock/Cedar Ridge) tied for 70th with a 22-over 166 and Caleb Kruse tied for 77th shooting a 24-over 168.

TLU Golf now shifts its focus to the Chick-Fil-A Invitational, which starts on October 25th at Stonebridge Golf Course in Rome, Georgia.
