Bulldogs Finish Fourth in UMHB Invitational

TEMPLE, TX -- Texas Lutheran's Men's golf team earned a fourth-place finish at the UMHB Invitational at Sammons Park in Temple, Texas.

The Bulldogs closed the event with a round of 285 to finish with a 36-hole total of 582, 22-over par. Host Mary Hardin-Baylor won the event with a 559 tally at the par-70 course.

For the second time in three tournaments, freshman Tobey Wills (Richmond/Foster) finished in the top ten. After a third-place finish in the Pine Dunes Invitational to start the fall season, Wills posted a 1-over total of 141 to finish tied for 6th after closing with a 70 on Tuesday.

After an opening round 71, senior Matthew McArthur (New Braunfels/New Braunfels) closed with a 74 to finish at 145 and tied for 16th place.

Junior Chase Maus (Manor/Manor) rose 12 spots into 19th place after firing an even par 70 to finish at 146.

Cameron Carter (Rock Springs, WY/Kelly Walsh) posted his low round of the event, a 71, to finish tied for 31st.

Chandler Otto (Round Rock/Cedar Ridge) signed for a 76 to finish at 157 and tied for 46th.

Bryce Archer (Uvalde/Knippa) finished at 165 to tie for 56th.

Texas Lutheran Men's Golf will be back in action on Oct. 18 when they travel to Thackerville, Oklahoma, to take part in the Crusader Invitational at Winstar Golf Course.
