Bulldogs fourth, Maus third at Schreiner's San Antonio Shootout

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Men's Golf finished fourth at the Schreiner University San Antonio Shootout on Tuesday, and junior golfer Chase Maus produced a third-place individual finish.

At TPC San Antonio, the Bulldogs shot a final-round 326 and dropped two spots in the team standings.

Maus carded a 76 on Tuesday and finished in third. He was the highest-placing Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference golfer in the field.

Maus finished one shot out of the playoff between McMurry teammates Lane Roye and Brendan Lowrance.

Trinity won the team title with a three-round total of 917. McMurry and Concordia Texas placed second and third with scores of 926 and 932, respectively.

TLU was fourth at 939, and Southwestern was fifth at 943.

East Texas Baptist, Mary Hardin-Baylor, LeTourneau, St. Thomas, Hardin-Simmons, Schreiner, and Belhaven rounded out the team standings.

TLU's Matthew McArthur tied for ninth overall, and Cameron Carter tied for 31st.

Chandler Otto tied for 41st, and Nathan Haley was 55th.

The Bulldogs return to action on March 8-9 with tournament play at the Schreiner Shootout. The tournament will be played at Comanche Trace in Kerrville, Texas.
