Texas Lutheran sits in second with round to play at San Antonio Shootout

SAN ANTONIO -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs posted rounds of 308 and 305 Monday and sit in second place at the Schreiner University San Antonio Shootout.
 
At TPC San Antonio's Oaks Course, TLU trails only Trinity in the 12-team field. The Bulldogs will enter the final 18 holes on Tuesday looking to make up an eight-shot deficit on the Tigers, who carded rounds of 303 and 302.
 
Trinity (605) and TLU (613) lead McMurry (617), Southwestern (622), East Texas Baptist (622), Mary Hardin-Baylor (623), Concordia Texas (625), LeTourneau (627), Hardin-Simmons (635), St. Thomas (636), Schreiner (649), and Belhaven (674).
 
TLU's Chase Maus and Matthew McArthur are tied for second in the individual standings. Maus recorded rounds of 75 and 71 for a 2-over-par total of 146.
 
McArthur produced a pair of 73s. McArthur was two shots off the lead after the first 18 holes.
 
Maus and McArthur are two shots behind McMurry's Brendon Lowrance, who shot a 75 and a 69 for an even-par total of 144.
 
Cameron Carter moved up from a tie for 32nd after the first round to a tie for 23rd through two rounds. Carter started with an 80 and fired a 77 in round two.
 
Chandler Otto and Nathan Haley are tied for 41st and 57th, respectively.
 
The San Antonio Shootout concludes Tuesday with a final 18 holes at TPC San Antonio.
