TLU takes fourth place at Trinity's Alamo City Classic; Maus ties for third

SAN ANTONIO -- Texas Lutheran Men's Golf recorded a fourth-place team finish on Tuesday at the Trinity University Alamo City Classic.

At The Quarry Golf Club, the Bulldogs matched Monday's team score of 289 with another 289. The Bulldogs finished three shots out of third, four shots out of second, and 15 shots behind tournament champion Trinity (287-276 = 563).
 
Maus, the first-round leader after Monday's 68, shot a 1-over-par 72 on Tuesday. His two-day total of 140 put him three shots behind medalist DJ Springer of Trinity. Williams Sammons of Mary Hardin-Baylor was solo second at 139.
 
Senior Nathan Haley improved by seven shots over Monday. He carded a 70 on Tuesday and moved up to a tie for 17th.
 
Matthew McArthur tied for 11th with a two-day total of 74-71. Cameron Carter was a shot back of McArthur. Carter tied for 15th after a 70 and a 76. Chandler Otto carded a second consecutive 77 and placed 30th overall.
 
TLU returns to action Feb. 22-23 at the Schreiner Spring Invitational. The tournament will be played at TPC San Antonio.
