Maus leads, Bulldogs in fourth with round to play at Alamo City Classic

SAN ANTONIO -- Texas Lutheran junior Chase Maus fired a three-under 68 Monday to take the overnight lead at Trinity University's Alamo City Classic.
 
At The Quarry Golf Club, Maus and the Bulldogs hold down fourth place in the team standings. 
 
The Alamo City Classic is the first tournament of the 2020-21 season for the Bulldogs. The fall schedule was canceled due to the pandemic.
 
With Maus leading by one shot over DJ Springer of Trinity, the Bulldogs are four shots out of the team lead, held by Mary Hardin-Baylor.
 
The Cru shot a 285 on Monday. University of Dallas is second at 286. Trinity is third at 287, and the Bulldogs are fourth, at 289.
 
Centenary (La.) and Howard Payne are fifth at 291. Trinity "B" is seventh, at 297, and Schreiner is eighth, at 310.
 
In addition to Maus' 68, TLU's Cameron Carter shot a 70, and Matthew McArthur carded a 74.
 
Nathan Haley and Chandler Otto each posted a 77.
 
The tournament concludes Tuesday at The Quarry with a final 18 holes.
