McArthur fifth, Bulldogs sixth at Dataw Island Invitational
DATAW ISLAND, S.C. -- Texas Lutheran's Matthew McArthur placed fifth overall at the BSN Dataw Island Invitational and led TLU to a sixth-place team finish.
McArthur, the overnight leader after two rounds on Monday, shot a 76 on Tuesday and finished three shots behind individual champion Brendon Lowrance of McMurry.
McArthur opened the tournament with a 73 and a 71.
McMurry won the team title with Lowrance and Elliot Bourke of McMurry going 1-2. The War Hawks also had a tie for sixth with Lane Roye.
McMurry won the tournament by 31 shots.
McMurry was followed in the team standings by: Webster, Millikin, Rensselaer Polytechnic, Kenyon, TLU, Ohio Wesleyan, Skidmore, Maryville, McDaniel, Washington & Jefferson, Mount St. Joseph, and Shenandoah.
TLU shots a 305 on the final day. The 305 was TLU's best score out of its three rounds.
Nathan Haley shot the Bulldogs' low round of Tuesday. He carded a 1-under 71. Haley moved into a tie for 23rd overall.

TLU has a little bit of a break before playing in Southwestern University's West Region Invitational, set for April 6-7 at Berry Creek Country Club in Georgetown, Texas.
