Bulldogs Drop Road Contest to #25 Trinity

SAN ANTONIO, Texas -- Texas Lutheran dropped Friday night's contest at rival, 25th-ranked Trinity, 80-59, at Calgaard Gymnasium in San Antonio.

With the loss, the next win by Concordia (TX) will eliminate the Bulldogs from SCAC Tournament contention.

Sophomore Kris Jones (Port Aransas/Port Aransas) led the Bulldogs with a season-high 13 points off the bench and three rebounds. Teddy Tapken (Austin/Lake Travis) led the starters with nine points and seven rebounds. Chris Jarrett (Fayetteville, NC/Lake Belton (TX)) scored a career-high six points off the bench.

Trinity used a 32-12 run over the opening 16 minutes of the game. The Tigers would limit the Bulldogs to just 15 points in the first half, taking a 36-15 lead into the break. The Bulldogs never mounted a serious threat in the second half as Trinity steadily built its lead.

The Tigers would never relinquish the lead, leading by as many as 36 points, ending the night with a 80-59 tally.

The Bulldogs will look to rebound on Saturday, Feb. 15, as they face the Schreiner Mountaineers to continue their season ending four-game road trip. Tip-off is set for 6 PM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
