Texas Lutheran Falls to Austin College, 82-70

SHERMAN, Texas -- Despite a double-double from Easton Allen (New Braunfels/Marion), the Texas Lutheran men's basketball team (4-14, 3-9 SCAC) dropped its Friday night contest with Austin College, 82-70, in Sherman.

Three Bulldogs would finish in double figures led by 16 points and 10 rebounds from Easton Allen, his fourth double-double of the season. Xavier Phillips (Austin/Dripping Springs) finished with 14 points, three steals, and a team-high four assists while Teddy Tapken (Austin/Lake Travis) recorded 13 points and seven rebounds, matching his career-high. Jordan Dunn (Del Valle/Del Valle) recorded a team and career-high four steals in addition to nine points off the bench.

Texas Lutheran and Austin College played to a 33-all tie at halftime. The 'Roos started the second half on a 10-2 run as they would lead for the entire second half, leading by as many as 13 points down the stretch.

The 'Roos shot 49.1% from the field on the night and held a 42-34 advantage on the glass.

Texas Lutheran wraps their final road trip of the 2024 season tomorrow, Feb. 3, as they travel to Irving to face the University of Dallas Crusaders. Tip-off is set for 4 PM. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
