Texas Lutheran Falls, 83-67, in Rematch with Hardin-Simmons

SEGUIN, Texas -- Despite 12 points off the bench from DJ Ardoin (Houston/Pearland), the Texas Lutheran men's basketball team (1-10) dropped its rematch with Hardin-Simmons, 83-67, Wednesday night at Memorial Gymnasium.

Ardoin would be the only Bulldog to finish in double figures. Every Bulldog that saw the floor Wednesday night scored at least two points. Xavier Phillips (Austin/Dripping Springs) added eight points while Jordan Dunn (Del Valle/Del Valle) finished with seven points and five rebounds off the bench.

Texas Lutheran trailed 31-29 at halftime but were doomed by a 18-3 run from the Cowboys to open the second half. The Bulldogs were not able to recover from the opening stretch, trailing by as many as 21 points in the second half.

The Cowboys shot 46.3% from the field on the night and held a 41-37 advantage on the glass.

Texas Lutheran continues its longest homestand of the season on Thursday, December 21, as they wrap their non-conference schedule with a rematch with the McMurry War Hawks. Tip-off is set for 3:30 PM at Memorial Gymnasium and the game will be streamed on TLU+. All streaming and live stats links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
