Austin College rallies for road win over Bulldogs

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Austin College Kangaroos erased a 15-point halftime deficit and hit a last-second three in regulation to force overtime before defeating the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs 78-71 Friday night in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium.
 
The Kangaroos' Tristan Dick made a long three-pointer with 2.8 seconds to play in regulation to force the extra session.
 
In the overtime, Austin College out-scored TLU 12-5.
 
The 'Roos improved to 4-4 overall and to 4-4 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
 
TLU fell to 3-6 overall and to 3-6 in the SCAC.
 
Dick scored 23 for Austin College. He added two rebounds, two assists, and five steals.
 
Michael Holland and Jayln Cleamons chipped in 18 and 16, respectively. Cleamons grabbed eight rebounds.
 
Sebastian Andrade scored 17 for TLU. He also registered five rebounds and four assists.
 
Xavier Phillips and Garrett Prince added 15 and 14, respectively. Prince blocked seven shots and had eight rebounds and three steals.
 
TLU shot 57.7 percent from the field in the first half. The shooting percentage dropped to 35 percent in the second half and to 14.3 percent in the overtime.
 
Austin College shot 41.4 percent in the first half, 60 percent in the second half and 71.4 percent in the overtime.
 
TLU and Austin College play again on Saturday - again in TLU's Memorial Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 4 p.m. TLU will have live video and live stats on tlubulldogs.com.
