Texas Lutheran evens season mark with 68-55 road win over Centenary College (La.)

SHREVEPORT, La. -- Texas Lutheran evened its overall and conference records with a 68-55 road win Saturday over Centenary College (La).
 
At Centenary's Gold Dome, the Bulldogs (1-1, 1-1 SCAC) held Centenary (1-1, 1-1 SCAC) to 23.1 percent shooting from the field.
 
TLU made nearly half of its total shots, 47.9 percent, and made four more three-pointers than the Gents.
 
The Bulldogs received a balanced scoring effort. Seniors Jamir Mason (Pearland/St. Thomas Episcopal), Caleb Lister (Baytown/Baytown Christian), and Sebastian Andrade (El Paso/Americas) scored 14, 13, and 12 points, respectively.
 
Mason and Andrade each had six rebounds, and Lister added five boards. Mason was 8-for-8 at the foul line.
 
First-year post Garrett Prince (San Antonio/MacArthur) scored eight and gathered six rebounds. Seven different Bulldogs scored at least six points.
 
TLU out-rebounded Centenary 47-35 and overcame 25 turnovers.
 
Saturday's game followed a Friday night contest in Shreveport between the same two clubs. Centenary won Friday night, 61-52.
 
TLU does not play again until Friday, Jan. 29 with the first of back-to-back home games against Trinity. That Friday night contest starts at 8 p.m., following the 5 p.m. TLU v. Trinity women's game.
