St. Thomas runs past Texas Lutheran 80-58

SEGUIN, Texas -- The St. Thomas held Texas Lutheran to 25.4 percent shooting and avenged the Celts only regular-season loss with a dominant 80-58 road win over the Bulldogs.
 
St. Thomas improved to 20-1 overall and to 13-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference.
 
TLU fell to 12-8 overall and to 9-4 in the SCAC. The Bulldogs defeated St. Thomas 77-74 in Houston back on Jan. 10.
 
Kennard Robinson led the Celts with 22 points, six assists and five rebounds.
 
Cameron Gims added 15 points and five rebounds. Joshua Sanchez chipped in eight points and a team-high nine rebounds.
 
Jamir Mason led TLU with 16 points and nine rebounds. Caleb Lister recorded six points and seven rebounds.
 
TLU fell behind 36-21 at the half after shooting 6-for-29 in those first 20 minutes.
 
The Bulldogs were 2-for-14 from the three-point line in the first half and finished the night at 8-for-29.
 
St. Thomas shots 43.1 percent from the field and 8-for-23 from the three-point line (34.8 percent).
 
TLU continues SCAC play on Saturday with a 2 p.m. home game against Centenary.
