Hardy Earns Academic All-District 8 Honors from College Sports Communicators

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran safety Mason Hardy (Flynn/Normangee) received Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators (CSC) on Tuesday. Being named Academic All-District puts Hardy on the ballot for the CSC Academic All-America team to be announced next month.

Hardy has maintained a grade-point average of 3.735 as a Business Management major and Communications minor. The Flynn, Texas, native is in his second year academically.

An All-ASC honorable mention selection in 2022, Hardy, who transitioned from quarterback to safety a week before the 2022 season had a stellar season that saw him finish second in the American Southwest Conference in interceptions (4) and recording 39 tackles, to finish fourth on the Texas Lutheran squad. Hardy also earned ASC Defensive Player of the Week and D3football.com Team of the Week honors throughout the 2022 season.

Academic All-District teams are selected by College Sports Communicators and recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in academics and athletics. Student-athletes who meet the criteria for nomination must be in at least their second year at their institution with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 and must have played in at least 50 percent of their team's games as an important starter or reserve. Hardy is now eligible to be named to the CSC Academic All-America team. First-, second-, and third-team honorees will be named on Dec. 20 after another round of voting.
