Kedrick Ward • TLU Athletics' Salute to Seniors
SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran University is featuring 2019-20 senior student-athletes in one-on-one video interviews over the next few months, and our 20th senior interview is with Kedrick Ward of TLU Football.
Ward started three full seasons for TLU at cornerback, and he was a stand-out special teams performer as well.
Ward lettered four seasons with the Bulldogs and helped TLU to its best-ever finish (this past season) in the American Southwest Conference. The Bulldogs went 8-2 overall, 8-1 in the ASC, and knocked off then-No. 6-ranked Hardin-Simmons in a conference road contest. The Bulldogs received regional and national rankings in NCAA Division III throughout the 2019 season.
Ward, a two-time all-conference performer in the ASC, was named to the ASC's Second Team All-Conference in 2019.
This past year, Ward scored on a 15-yard fumble return in a shutout home win over Southwestern. In a home win over Louisiana College, he had a pair of interceptions.
Ward finished the 2019 season with a career-high four interceptions, 39 total tackles, and three fumble recoveries.
In his Bulldog career, Ward collected 118 total tackles, seven interceptions, 19 pass break-ups, and four fumble recoveries.
Ward played in the Historically Black Colleges and Universities Spirit of America Bowl on Jan. 19, 2020 in Salem, Va.
Ward is set to graduate from TLU in December 2020 as a business administration and finance major.
