Baseball Drops Series Finale to No. 21/24 Concordia (TX)

AUSTIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Baseball dropped the series finale to Concordia (TX), 7-3, and were swept by the Tornados on Friday at Gardner-Boggs Field in Austin.

The Bulldogs (21-15, 14-13 SCAC) will close out the regular season with a three-game road series at Schreiner starting on Friday, April 25 in Kerrville. First pitch is scheduled for 2 PM with the game being streamed on FloSports. All streaming and live stats links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.

Concordia scored a trio of runs on a three-run home run in the first to take an early 3-0 lead.

Texas Lutheran got two of the runs back in the second after Adam Peavy (Houston/Memorial) singled and scored on an RBI triple from Drew Burnett (Seguin/Seguin). Burnett scored on a Brayden Sprencel (Robstown/Calallen) sacrifice fly to make the score 3-2.

The Tornados made the lead 4-2 with a solo home run in the third.

The Bulldogs scratched out another run in the fourth on an RBI ground rule double from Burnett to score Kash Durkin (Liberty Hill/Liberty Hill).

The Tornados responded with two runs in the bottom of the inning and tacked on an insurance run in the seventh.

With the loss and St. Thomas owning the tiebreaker, Texas Lutheran has been mathematically eliminated from SCAC Tournament contention.
