McGowan Named SCAC Pitcher of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- For the second time this season, Texas Lutheran pitcher Triston McGowan (Vidor/Vidor) is the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Pitcher of the Week.

The junior right-hander went the distance on Saturday, securing the series win for the Bulldogs at home against Austin College, tossing all nine innings in a 6-2 victory for TLU. He scattered five hits over the game, allowing just two earned runs and striking out eight. McGowan walked just three batters to post a sparkling .89 WHIP and a 2.00 ERA on the week. The complete game was his Division-III leading third complete game of the season, improving to 4-2 on the season.

For the season, the Vidor, Texas, native has a 2.32 ERA and 34 strikeouts in 42.2 innings.
