Baseball's McGowan Named SCAC Pitcher of the Week

SEGUIN, Texas -- #RV Texas Lutheran Baseball's right-handed pitcher Triston McGowan (Vidor/Vidor) collected Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Pitcher of the Week honors, the league office announced Monday.

This is the first career weekly distinction for McGowan.

A 5-foot-11 junior McGowan led the Bulldogs on the mound in the series finale to clinch the sweep of Centenary on Sunday.

McGowan retired 13 of the first 16 batters he faced, tossing his first career complete game and recording a career-best 11 strikeouts.

The Vidor, Texas, native surrendered two unearned runs on four hits and three walks to earn the victory in his second career start.

The Bulldogs open their non-conference slate on Tuesday, Feb. 18, as they welcome Mary Hardin-Baylor to Katt-Isbel Field for a doubleheader. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 3 PM with the games being streamed on TLU+. All streaming and live stats links can be found on tlubulldogs.com.
