Baseball Releases Complete 2023 Schedule

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Baseball announced its full 2023 schedule on Thursday, featuring 21 home games at Katt-Isbel Field.

The Bulldogs will open the season with a non-conference series against Pacific University (OR), a 2022 NCAA Tournament qualifier, Feb. 4-5, before participating in the CTX Classic hosted by Concordia University Feb. 11-12. The Bulldogs will face Pacific Lutheran and George Fox as part of the 2023 CTX Classic at Tornado Field in Austin, Texas.

Texas Lutheran will host UT-Dallas (Feb. 17-18), another 2022 NCAA Tournament qualifier, and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (Feb. 18-19) before closing out the month of February with a mid-week road contest against Mary Hardin-Baylor (Feb. 28).

Texas Lutheran starts the month of March with a mid-week matchup against DeSales (Mar. 7) before traveling to face the Tigers of East Texas Baptist (Mar. 10-11). Texas Lutheran will return to face SUNY Cortland (Mar. 13) in a rare Monday night matchup before traveling to face Centenary (LA), the 2022 SCAC Champions (Mar. 17-18). Following the trip to Shreveport, Texas Lutheran begins a five-game homestand at Katt-Isbel Field. TLU begins the homestand with a mid-week contest against Mary Hardin-Baylor (Mar. 21) before hosting a weekend series against rival Trinity (Mar. 24-26) and closing the home stretch against DePauw (Mar. 29).

Texas Lutheran will spend a majority of April on the road in SCAC play traveling to St. Thomas (Mar. 31-Apr. 1), Schreiner (Apr. 6-7), and Dallas (Apr. 22-23). Texas Lutheran will step out of SCAC play to host future SCAC foe McMurry (Apr. 11) before hosting Austin College (Apr. 14-15) and Southwestern (Apr. 28-30) to close the regular season.

The 2023 SCAC Championship Baseball Tournament returns to The Depot at Cleburne Station in Cleburne, Texas, Friday, May 5-Sunday, May 7.

The Bulldogs are headlined by D3baseball.com All-Region pitcher Joe Burch (Geronimo/Navarro) as TLU returns 11 All-SCAC players from last season's squad led by Rick Heines who enters his third season as head coach.
