Texas Lutheran erupts for 21 runs in conference-opening win over Austin College

SEGUIN, Texas -- The Texas Lutheran Bulldogs opened Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play with a 21-3 victory Friday night over Austin College.
 
TLU moved to 8-6 overall and to 1-0 in the SCAC.
 
Austin fell to 4-7 overall and to 0-4 in the SCAC.
 
TLU broke the game open with four runs in the second, six runs in the third, and nine runs in the fifth.
 
The game ended after seven innings due to the conference's 10-run rule.
 
Tyler Cauley doubled twice and drove in three, and Cullen Motsinger tripled with the bases loaded to drive in three.
 
Joe Jimenez also doubled twice. He was 3-for-4 with three runs scored and two RBI.
 
Collin Docker scored three times and drove in a pair.
 
TLU right-hander Landon Weatherly took a no-hitter into the sixth. Weatherly (1-1) struck out nine in the win.
 
The Bulldogs and Kangaroos return to action at TLU's Katt-Isbel Field on Saturday with a noon doubleheader.
