SEGUIN, Texas -- Tyler Cauley crushed a three-run home run in the first inning, and Landon Weatherly hurled six strong innings as the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs won their fifth straight with a 6-2 home win Friday over Pacific Lutheran.
Cauley, the senior right fielder, turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead when he deposited a pitch over the left field wall in the first inning.
Weatherly, the senior right-hander, struck out six and walked just one in improving to 2-0.
TLU moved to 6-2 overall. PLU dropped to 2-6.
Maly and Cauley each scored twice. Brandt and Cullen Motsinger each delivered RBI.
TLU and PLU finish up the four-game series in Seguin with a noon doubleheader Saturday at Katt-Isbel Field. Each game Saturday will be a seven-inning contest.
