Bulldogs Fall to No. 7 UMHB in Belton

BELTON, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Acrobatics and Tumbling wrapped their regular season with a potential preview of the NCATA Division-III Tournament Championship matchup with No. 7 Mary Hardin-Baylor Friday night at the Mayborn Campus Center in Belton. The Bulldogs would drop the meet to the Crusaders with the Bulldogs (4-3) earning a total score of 233.875 and the Crusaders (4-3) earning a total score of 260.980. The two teams entered Friday's meet locked in as the top two seeds in next week's NCATA Division-III Tournament.

Texas Lutheran would score a 31.95 in the compulsory, including an 8.8 in acro, 9.4 in pyramid, 9.7 in toss, and 4.05 in tumbling out of the highest possible value of 10. UMHB outscored the Bulldogs in the compulsory, earning a 37.50 total score.

After the acro event, TLU continued to trail the Crusaders with Texas Lutheran earning a total score of 26.35 consisting of a 9.15 in the fifth element, 7.75 in the sixth element, and 9.45 in the seventh element. The Crusaders narrowly outscored the Bulldogs in the event earning a score of 28.90.
 
Mary Hardin-Baylor continued to slowly increase their lead, outscoring the Bulldogs in the pyramid event, 28.35 to 25.40.

Leading into the half, TLU trailed UMHB 94.75 - 83.70. 
 
The Crusaders narrowly took the toss event, with event scores being 27.0 - 25.45. Texas Lutheran earned an 8.4 in salto, 8.1 in synchronized, and 8.95 in open.

Despite the Bulldogs winning three heats, the Crusaders found a way to win the tumbling event, 50.300-45.075. The tumbling event was highlighted by a 9.050 out of 9.55 in the duo pass, a 9.325 out of 9.55 in the aerial pass, and a 9.125 out of 9.55 in the open pass.

In the Team event, Texas Lutheran competed and scored 79.65/90.65. The Crusaders performed, scoring a 88.93/101.07.

The meet finalized with UMHB coming out on top with a 260.980 score against TLU's 233.875.
