TLU Falls on the Road to Division-II No. 13 Augustana

SIOUX FALLS, SD -- Texas Lutheran Acrobatics and Tumbling continued the 2024 season with a matchup against Division-II opponent, the 13th-ranked Augustana University Vikings, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The Bulldogs would drop the meet to the Vikings with the Bulldogs (1-5) earning a total score of 224.790 and the Vikings (5-2) earning a total score of 262.205.

Texas Lutheran would score a 30.95 in the compulsory, including a 7.15 in acro, 9.00 in pyramid, 9.30 in toss, and 5.50 in tumbling out of the highest possible value of 10. Augustana outscored the Bulldogs in the compulsory, earning a 37.25 total score.

After the acro event, TLU continued to trail the Vikings with Texas Lutheran earning a total score of 23.70 consisting of an 8.15 in the fifth element, 6.80 in the sixth element, and 8.75 in the seventh element. The 23.70 score is a new program-high.
 
Augustana would narrowly out score the Bulldogs in the pyramid event, 29.20 to 27.30.

Leading into the half, TLU trailed Augustana 93.70 - 81.95. 
 
The Vikings took the toss event, with event scores being 27.60 - 24.30. Texas Lutheran earned an 8.85 in salto, 7.60 in synchronized, and 7.85 in open.

Augustana also took the tumbling event, outscoring TLU 50.075 to 43.500. The tumbling event was highlighted by an 8.950 score from Phoenix Cosley (Round Rock/Hendrickson) in the open pass.

Texas Lutheran would conclude the meet with a 75.04 score in the team event.

Texas Lutheran concludes the regular season with a road meet at Mary Hardin-Baylor on Saturday, March 30, at 1 PM. All streaming links will be available on tlubulldogs.com.
