TLU A&T Wins Toss Event, Continue to Raise Standard in Loss to East Stroudsburg

SEGUIN, Texas -- Texas Lutheran Acrobatics and Tumbling continued their homestand with a Wednesday afternoon meet against Division-II East Stroudsburg University at Memorial Gymnasium.  Despite dropping the meet, Texas Lutheran (0-4) would eclipse the 200-point mark and set a new program-high for the second consecutive meet earning a total score of 223.750. The Warriors (3-2) would win the meet with a total score of 245.785.

Texas Lutheran would score a new program-high 31.95 in the compulsory, including a 8.25 in acro, 9.55 in pyramid, 9.70 in toss, and 4.45 in tumbling out of the highest possible value of 10. ESU outscored the Bulldogs in the compulsory, earning a 35.55 total score.

After the acro event, TLU continued to trail the Warriors with Texas Lutheran earning a total score of 23.0 consisting of a 8.90 in the fifth element, 7.60 in the sixth element, and 6.50 in the seventh element. The 23.0 score is also a new program-high.
 
East Stroudsburg would narrowly out score the Bulldogs in the pyramid event, 28.30 to 26.05, with the 26.05 also setting a new program record.

Leading into the half, TLU trailed ESU 90.30 - 81.00.

For the second time in program history, TLU would win an event as they would score the Warriors in the toss event with a program record score of 26.40 to ESU's 24.19. Texas Lutheran earned a 8.70 in salto, 8.55 in synchronized, and 9.15 in open.

ESU would respond by taking the tumbling event, outscoring TLU 47.725 to 44.300. The tumbling event was highlighted by a 9.000 out of 9.100 score from Phoenix Cosley (Round Rock/Hendrickson) in the open pass, an 8.50 out of 8.80 in the Aerial Pass from Mackenzie Holland (Colleyville/Grapevine), and an 8.350 out of 8.50 in the trio pass from Holland, Cosley, and Gracen Bunch (Georgetown/Georgetown).

Texas Lutheran continues to improve in the team event - setting a new program-high of 72.05 in the event on Wednesday.
