Bio

Walter A. Ulbricht, Jr. lettered four seasons in football and earned All-America honors in 1971 and 1972 as a defensive end.  He was a team captain his junior and senior seasons, and he was the recipient of TLU’s prestigious Capt. Thomas E. Eddy Award in 1972.  Ulbricht played for Carman Bonner in 1969 and 1970 and for TLU Hall of Famer Jim Wacker in 1971 and 1972.  With Ulbricht on the defensive line, the Bulldogs posted four shutouts and held opponents to single digits in 13 ball games.  Like his former teammate and fellow captain Floyd Medearis, Ulbricht is one of 10 Bulldogs to claim multiple All-America honors in football.  He is one of two defensive linemen in school history to have two All-America seasons.
