Jiggs came to TLC in 1959 after coaching assignments at Gustavus Adolphus College, Upsala College, and Hutchinson High School, Minnesota, and is a member of the Gustavus Adolphus Athletics Hall of Honor. He was head coach of the Bulldog basketball team from 1959-72, and an assistant football coach until his retirement in 1987. He was the offensive line coach for the 1974 and 1975 national championship teams. Jiggs was a member of the Chicago White Sox organization at one time, and played semi-pro ball for the Seguin White Sox. It was commonly said of Jiggs that “he has forgotten more about coaching than any of the rest of us will ever know.”
