Bio

Sam Terry took his love for golf to the 1948 Texas State Junior Golf Championships and was the medalist for the tournament played at Bryan Country Club in Bryan, Texas.  He is one of only four Texas Lutheran Athletes to win state titles.  He also joined Joe Vetter to take runner-up honors in the 1948 team competition.  In the 1947 championships at Paris, Texas, Terry was the runner-up medalist, and again, with Harrell Brau, took the team runner-up title.  Sam was a member of Texas Lutheran’s first two golf teams in history, coached by Theos Morck.
