Bio

Roger Gomez was the first great soccer star to play for Texas Lutheran.  He concluded his four-year career in 1991 as the holder of seven school records.  Today he still holds five school marks – career matches played (81), career goals scored (62), career points (137), goals in a match (four, twice), and points in a match (nine).  In his first year with the team, Gomez had an immediate impact as the Bulldogs won 14 matches, more wins than the combined victory total of the previous five seasons.  He was an All-Heart of Conference First Team selection and was named to the All-District IV Second Team.  As a senior, he was a First Team All-Heart of Texas Conference choice and a First Team All-District selection.
