Bio

Robert is recognized for his participation in baseball as a pitcher from 1971-1975.  His career stands at 25-18, having pitched 300-1/2 innings, throwing 256 strikeouts, giving up 123 walks, and an ERA of 269.  At one point, Vargas pitched 25 consecutive scoreless innings.  In 1974, he was named Big State Conference Most Valuable Player.  During his career, the Bulldogs were Big State Conference Champions in two of his four seasons as a pitcher.
