Bio

Texas Lutheran’s baseball coach for 22 years, Ray Katt retired at the end of the 1992 season.  During his tenure, the Bulldogs won 502 games, lost 362, and tied two.  His teams won NAIA District IV titles in 1974, 1986, 1988, and 1989.  The teams of 1975, 1979, and 1985 were Big State Conference Champions, and his teams of 1974 and 1984 were co-champions, while the 1971 squad was Big State Tri-Champions.  Coach Katt also served as Texas Lutheran’s athletics director and as an assistant football coach.  He was also an instructor in the university’s kinesiology department.  Coach Katt was posthumously inducted into the NAIA Hall of Fame on January 5, 2001.
